HAWS WATERING CANS

The Sustainable Choice

Watering CanVegetable and flower plants growing in containers need frequent watering; in some climates, as often as twice a day. That makes a well designed watering can an essential tool. The best models are balanced so that you can carry them easily and tip them without dumping all the water out at once. They have a rosette (the sprinkler part) that can be replaced separately from the rest of the watering can. And they’re made of galvanized steel, brass, or copper. Most experienced gardeners agree that Haws makes the best watering cans. The company offers lots of models for specific uses, and while they tend to cost more than those you’ll find at the discount store, they are the sustainable choice because they last for years, maybe even for generations.

Title-Product-FYI

When feeding plants with liquid fertilizer, add 1/4 teaspoon of dish soap to a quart of water. Then mix in the fertilizer, per the package’s instructions. The soap helps the fertilizer coat the leaf surface.
