SINGER’S SAVING GRACE (EXTRA STRENGTH)
Vocalists Take Comfort
Developed over 20 years ago for performers at the famed Santa Fe Opera, Singer’s Saving Grace, a spray made by Herbs Etc., comes to the aid of singers and others who use their voices professionally. It moistens and lubricates throat tissues and helps relieve sore throats.
Created by noted herbalist Daniel Gagnon, the formula contains yerba mansa (Anemopsis californica), which treats mucous membrane inflammation, swollen gums, and sore throat; stoneroot (Collinsonia canadensis), known by traditional American herbalists as a treatment for “minister’s sore throat”; licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra), used in China for sore throats; jack-in-the-pulpit (Arisaema triphyllum), a traditional sore throat remedy; propolis, the resin-like substance bees make, which kills oral bacteria; echinacea, which is antiviral; ginger (Zingiber officinale), an anti-inflammatory; and osha (Ligusticum porteri), an antiviral expectorant. Spray two or three times directly into the mouth every 1 to 4 hours. It costs $12 for a 1-ounce bottle.
If taking vitamin C upsets your stomach, try the Ester-C form, which is less acidic.
